AX 40, cupped but plate OK?

I already have what folks at Gun Boards said was an ERMA stock (with a cupped but plate).

I have a line on an AX 40 barreled action. would that be OK with the cupped butt plate? or, do I need to seek out a flat one for it? (Or, seek out an AX 41 receiver).

some flat buttplate stocks were modified for a cupped buttplate.. So its not wrong per-sey. But a correct stock for that rifle would b difficult to find.

seems there were some cupped butt plate AX 40, late in the production year.
