Bigdibbs has a super rifle with E/280 (3x) receiver. Here's his post:

http://www.k98kforum.com/showthread.php?6015-ax-41-Well-I-got-lucky

Here's one with a walther rec'r (E/359) & non gothic Mod.98.... Probably not enough reported to trend which are more common. Paul?

Lastly, Law suggests E/359 are lacking for ax 1940.... just wondering if true.

Another really nice Erma '41. Does the receiver have an extra E280 under the woodline like the Sauers do?

great stuff Bob. I think the bluing on yours is nicer than mine....and i believe that e/359 receivers are rarer too :)

I have a rough bolt m/m ax41 in c block with no side rail mark and right side e359 e280 (x2). JL

Ax41 359-280-280

Got one also with Walter rec

My '41 AX, c block, is a walther supplied receiver with 2x 280. Metal is near mint.

I'd have to go look in the erma study on gunboards but there should be decent info on rt. receiver as it was requested in the very beginning of the thread.

jlj, what is the serial of your c block? Would be cool to have two brothers side by side.

Mine is 3355 c. JL

Just brought home another example... ax 41 359 280 280 marked receiver ring (rt side) Block "Mod 98" side wall and it is SN 6092 f Sadly it is not a complete rifle as it is in a RC stock with non matching bands etc.... The matched items are barrel, receiver, ejector, bolt (all sub parts), trigger guard assy (all sub parts match) Further sadness... as it appears to have been re-blued at some point in the past. I'm not a photo posting wizard so if this sad example is worthy of pics.. I'll be glad to provide them to someone that can post them.

Hello, very nice rifles, I'd love to find one like either of them. I have a 27 1940, but not nearly as nice. How does it compare in rarity with the ax code?
