It’s your rifle so of course, you do what you want. Having said that, I personally do not see the point at all. The “3 hole” is a rare variant of a standard issued army rifle. It never had a base fitted so it’s completely incorrect. Many of these 3 holes have been ruined by people making fake LSRs out of them. So it actually makes them more desirable and rare IMO. I understand that’s not your case, but one of the main features of these rifles is the complete lack of damage/evidence of a base or it’s locking screws exhibited on the receiver flat. That area is pristine for the most part and what collectors of these look out for. The repro locking screws can and will “imprint” onto the receiver flat of your rifle if tightened down too much (Unless you really machine them short)…

Appreciate the concern. The locking screws are ground short. Main bolts were dusted down as well. I cut the mount to clear the action and stock so when it's bolted or unbolted there is zero modification to the rifle. I agree from a collector standpoint it's not doing anything but it's also been done so that it's not hurting anything. I see no point in shooting this rifle and I hadn't really thought that far ahead until now but I probably wouldn't include the mount if I were to ever sell it (if someone ever did shoot it with only the bolts holding it on, might not be great). Dress up for looks, and I eat the cost of the mount. I've done worse over a weekend before.
