I think this is Steyr made receiver roll marking. The other is Radom made. There were 2 different roll marks in 42.

Great find! The reason the SS contract code looks the same is the dies from Steyr were used and changed to 43. This may be an unused left over receiver used early in the SSZZA4 program.

Hello, I have a question about bnz stocks. Is it possible to have a byf mark on an early bnz42 stick? And a flat butteplate?

Thanks for your help.

Best Regards martin100

Is possible but would probably be a rework. We would need to see photos to verify.

my friend has received the rifle and in fact it's a bnz42 SSZZA4

Don't know how I missed this first time by? Is the rest of the rifle complete and original? Possible your friend would allow the rest to be photographed? Pretty interesting rifle for me.

Hello, the collector has unfortunately already sold the bnz42. Unfortunately not to me. Thank you for the answers.

martin100, the reply you are quoting was directed to the original starter of this thread and not to you.

Very interesting on the serialized buttplate! Not the first SSZZA stamped bnz rifle that I see with a serial number on that place!
