Bnz43 SS contract

Picked this up a couple weeks back.. Was at a local show SW florida. This was one of a hand full of Rifles being sold by a deceased collector's family. I of course missed the initial sale but, after throwing enough $$ at the lucky new owner I was able to drag it home. I comprised a date sheet for Mr.Farb for his tracking of these. Rifle as far as I can tell is untouched It was dusty and dirty not too rusty though. Been sitting somewhere a long time.
Steyr style Sight hood never removed and filled with dust and dirt. Im having issues getting photos loaded but, will add more as time allows.
Data file.
Receiver= blank less Bnz43 and circle V7 on the right rear receiver bridge.
barrel= CE coded CZ lot followed by e/37 x2 also at 6o-clock position at raised flange P or b at 12o'clock stamped 5 ,
trigger guard and floor plate/follower. E/135 floor plate ser #
bands =blank welded and stamped. Band spring = e/135
trigger and sear are unmarked.
bayolug =e/77
stock= C subcontracted with BH under the butt plate cross lug = f coded
rear site assy= tube x2 e/77 leaf e/77 ramp e/77 both ser #. slide is unmarked, slide catch is e/77
Bolt= body is E/77 x2 on underside flat. FP on rear flat. Late round gas port type.
extractor= e/77
safety =e/77
shroud =e/77
firing pin - E/waA77
cocking piece =blank

Photos will follow.. This one follows similar patterns. Ser # pattern. Ser # on Barrel with F.P. stock and HG internal ser #, Bolt is a very interesting partially scrubbed army contract steyr bolt With ser # added on the bolt flat and safety.
Original matching bolt assy. Was 9245 numbered in the Army pattern.
Ser # only on the floor plate and rear site parts like Steyr continued till wars end.

thanks Aaron. I added a few more.. the steps it takes for me to load pic's here is time consuming.. but , figured I post this one.
I have lots of detailed photos of the bolt. Another member has a scrubbed bolt SS contract as well.

Smart move making the sale happen, looking forward to more photos.
I paid more than I would have normally. I have to buy what's avail and what's in front of me. I have found one other 98 down here . This one was Luck or not luck ? not sure... Anyways I'll get more posted

trigger guard assy. site hood and stock numbering. Bands, Upper band has that silver paint or whatever this was/is ? Thats shows up on some welded bands.

Added a few more pics of the stock and HG. the HG has an interesting chamfer on the large end leading down to the retainer. Not all show this method of fitting.

Bolt is a Radom made bolt. Late type all 77 proofed less the cocking piece. Complete matching bolt was taken possibly from a rejected army contract bolt based on how it was serial numbered and the three visible parts were scrubbed and numbered to match the SS contract pattern. Ser #'s are faint under the later . Steyr font and pattern are unmistakable. I was or would have been extremely leery of this other than the circumstance it was purchased. They didnt renumber or scrub the cocking piece or firing pin oddly enough. Orig # was 9245 you can see the 2 in the bolt flat #.

That is a hell of a weld across the barrel band...wicked!
Im not sure if this silver coating is/was added before or after the weld was applied. I did some welding in shop class but that's about it. This silver coating shows up on some bands but , not all.

a few more.. Sorry for the low quality but, my indoor photo skills are fading. Poor lighting.. V7 proof is about 1/2 C stock is very nice un messed with and dark with sling well Raw. It did have a rotted sling partially attached. My theory on the bolt is they only bothered re-numbering what could be seen. And grinding the bolt sleeve and leaving it blank.. As soon as I mentioned to another member he's like ya, I have one just like that which made be happy. I searched all the pic sticky threads but, didnt see another similar.

Overall Im happy to own it.

Could have been a coating they added to stop it from rusting or a previous poor weld redone with a costing to make it stronger?
