I bought this rifle out of curiosity. At the time, I didn't realize that the bolt wasn't correct for a sniper model and that the scope was near impossible to get if the link is correct.

I guess some of these were converted to snipers after Romania joined the Soviet Bloc - ? Otherwise I don't understand the comment about "It is thought that these pre-WW2 rifles were selected and upgraded or repurposed into sniper rifles, with these scopes patterned after the Soviet Russian PEM, given that Romania was in the post-war Soviet Russian bloc."
What would you do with this rifle - other than shoot it - if you wanted to use the existing mount to get some glass for it?
