I acquired this from a local auction who specializes more in antiques and artwork. This one was mixed in and went cheaply. I was told this one sat in a closet for many years and it certainly appears that way. All matching inside and out. Buttplate bears a 50th Infantry regiment replacement battalion unit marking, which seems like a lot of Danzig 71-84s do. Danzig examples are less common than Spandau or Amberg and I was quite happy to acquire it. I will need an Erfurt example to have all five makers of the 71-84.
