DK Production MP44

Very nice! What was it about your build that differed from a DK built rifle in that it enabled you to seat the mag in the well properly?
I made my own mag well support piece that was bent to 2.5° versus the original that were bent 90 or straight. By doing that it follows the back of the mag keeps it tighter and it from rocking back-and-forth during firing. And if I remember correctly, I also had to change the front shape of the sheet metal on the front of the.Mag well. The trick is make sure when you’re Building a Mp44 that the stops on the mag are parallel with the Trunnion (the rounds will be pointed slightly up and towards the barrel ) by doing that you really don’t even need to put the ramp in the barrel for the rounds to chamber. I still did anyways, but it would feed without it with no problems

Excellent, thanks for taking the time to explain. Sounds like the folks at DK would benefit from your expertise, in fact, I believe theyre looking for help if you're interested.

If anything, I would love to go up there and check out their facility and how they built their rifles. I’m sure I would learn something from them. I can really appreciate the amount of work that they have put in to building their rifles. All the tools and the development of those tools takes a long time.

I think it would be wise for DK PG to contact Dave Bane at MarColMar. I've spent a day in his production facility for the CETME L and his automated receiver forming and welding methods could be well applied to this rifle to increase Quality and consistency.

Thats a great idea. I havent been to the facility however I do own one of their rifles. Marcolmar makes an impressive product with excellent attention to detail.

I built a rifle from one of marcolmar upper receiver, stampings good quality. I did make a few changes to it mostly to the fire control group redesigned it to accept a AR but stock and pistol grip.
