Thoughts on this scope can on ebay. To me it just doesn't look right.

I'd respectfully suggest that y'all start a "Sniper Can Fakes" sticky and upload pics of all fake cans and auctions you run across for a reference. It would help me and I'm not a sniper collector that much.

Legacy probably would not know the difference on scope cans. More of a PPK and German pistols guy. Good thing about him is that he will stand behind what he sales. Tell Tom its bogus or there is a problem and he will come though in every case I am aware of. He wants to keep his reputaion, as it should be.

Yes they did sell an exact can last week for $500!
I was very interested in getting it. But researching through my book collections told me to stay away from it.

Not many pictures have been pic sticky in the sniper section. Not sure why.

Like I said before, I thought the strap was worth more than the can! As far as I can tell these straps are legit and have appeared in a couple of books. I pretty sure it is shown in Darrin Weaver's G/K43 book on a scope box. I have a couple of these I picked up over the years and they have a unique aluminum snap hook with the square bail where the strap goes through as well as the "hour glass" shaped stitching pattern. See pics for an examples.
