This is in part due to ramifications of a debate on Gunboards about control of data and
its use therein. Ham has clearly stated our policy on data and copyright (images) and that very short policy statement speaks for itself and needs no further elaboration.

I want to reinforce my stated goal of presenting as completely and with as much detail
data, historical background, and even personal opinion as in some cases thats all we have. Thats what Mike, Ham, Paul,Eric and the rest of the gang here are all about. No BS, just the "simple truth" and a little humor thrown in.

We have about as a balanced crew here as is possible with no "hidden agendas", ego trips, "axes to grind", etc, etc. I am fortunate to have been invited to this great party and hopefully will continued long into the future with years of interesting discussion, presentation, and yes some banter occasionally.

We have as I stated on an ongoing thread some of the greatest collecting "horsepower" in the world on this board and in time, perhaps we can add to it but our current team would be hard to beat in any venue.

Its an honor and privilege to be associated with this forum, fellow moderators, its members and our background resource team in the US and Germany.

Thanks guys,
Bruce

Put the booze down dude, and turn off Oprah, your getting soft. On another note, I'm happy to be here too. :)

Chick

I need to watch a chick flick now....I'm feeling vulnerable.....

Seriously..this is a great forum with great guys. I consider myself lucky to be abused by you all......

Thread

Thanks Jack and even though Mike is cat friendly, I wont hold it against him.

as one of the younger in the group, I feel like a rookie who made it to the pro bowl in my first year after you guys invited me here

thanks, I hope I wont disappoint

this is what I was hoping for : serious discussion, and serious fun, with GENUINELY good people...this is supposed to be a fun hobby and for me my stress reliever, and I always want to learn and am fascinated by how much you guys know and I learn by watching and listening, not only about technical things, but how to act in the collecting commuity...even if it is mostly about boring bolt action guns :moon:

I can tell most of you are good people (most of the time)...because Im psychotic

I mean psychic

group hug at the next show! (jack and eric love my bear hugs)

G43 what?

We in the bolt action community actually take pity on you poor G/K43 folk as we realize that your ingrained weakness toward an inferior weapon is probably genetic. Our condolences.

I appreciate the good natured banter here, the OPENNESS, and the camaraderie. No back stabbing, no lowballing purchases, no wankiness. Just good honest guys discussing OPENLY and without pathetic fear of copyright BS.

Even if Mike and Eric do like thier late war "things" we tolerate them :)

Modiying Bruce's post some more: We in the supreme quality pre-war bolt action community actually take pity on you poor Kreigsmodell folk as we realize that your ingrained weakness toward an inferior weapon is probably genetic. Our condolences.

I low ball Eric, and Jack every chance I get, and high balling them is just as fun

we are talking about gun prices right?

I can't help it- chatter marks make me sweat, either in wood or metal. Wait, what were we talking about? I'm getting old. Now this is high quality.

I reckon I could make some chatter marks with a welder and a file.

Send me an Elite Diamant 39 or somesuch, and I'll do my best to make that rare early Krappmodell bayonet for ya Mike. A weld splash here, grind and file marks there, throw the blade into a pile of rocks for a day, and it'll look like a post-42 bayonet pretty quick....

You all suck....join the real team and jump on the Arisaka boat....

Just kidding, although I do own one Type 99...

There is no better resource anywhere (at least until Volume I and II come out) than here for info. Totally the A-Team of 98k's and German weapons....I am very happy to be amongst the giants, even though my contributions are small...

Maybe I should get some "enhancement" pills....

Thats the beauty of a forum, every small contribution adds up to a huge amount of data. Even new collectors can find really neat stuff and contribute, sometimes without even knowing it.

Hmm, What was that snide remark about G/K 43s???
I got smart fairly early, stared with a K98k in 1953 and graduated to the much better G 43 in 1959 and have never looked back. Have never hunted with a 98k since!!! In fact almost never shoot one at all. Don't need to since I have about 15 G/K 43s laying around the house.
I do however like the K98k as a collectable rifle, I've got about 60 of them stacked up around here. Nice to look at, No fun to shoot!

I only have two T99s, both 'last ditch.' I'm not sure I like them because the woodwork is so shoddy. It's going to take me all day to sand this one down.
