First off thanks to my buddy Chris for helping me with this rifle, I owe you a bbq dinner at SOS show buddy! These rifles are quite scare in my experience, it’s matching as refurbished by the Germans (they renumbered the bolt knob and barrel shroud but other parts have mixed Belgian numbers. The receiver is notched and both the bolt and receiver have German eagle proofs. The right side of the butt is marked with a Deutches Reich cartouche, Condition is well used but that’s par for the course for these rifles. All in I’m quite happy with this one as I love the Belgian 89, just like I love the Gew 98. This rifle will go well with my Greener made prototype Belgian 89 that is very rare with two known counting mine.

Thanks for the shout out buddy. I'm glad this one turned up in that collection I was going through. It was tough to pass it along, but I know how you like your Belgian Mausers.

Fantastic example thanks for taking good pictures.

I owned one of these many years back... Could be it ? Very cool varaint and this and the Nagant are the hardest to find.

Marc I always wanted to post a period photograph of a Imperial German soldier armed with a Belgium 1889 Mauser rifle on your thread. But, finding one I think is about as hard as finding those damn rifles! So after all these years here you go buddy!
