So new to site. Aquired a gt24t. Thinking was k98. You guys explained it all to me. So picked this up from another site. Howed I do

Oh ok what is the cutout
Its for ZF41 Optic, the stock has a cut-away for the mount slide. Unfortunately its from another rifle. Your barrel and action never came with the mount. They are usually more difficult stocks to find.

 
Ok great to know yea there are no markings on the stock that I can see. So who knows then where it came from then
Stock is most likely “originally” from a Mauser Borsigwalde (AR code) zf41. They used flat buttplate stocks into 1942 and the bolt cutout looks trademark MB to me at least.

I’m assuming you know the story of how Russian captures came to be and what they are?

Somebody cleaned up this RC. They stripped the shellac off the stock, did some sanding and probably lightly oiled it. Also looks like maybe the Russian hot dip bluing may have been removed/ polished off the barreled receiver and parts.

Is the muzzle counterbored? Can’t tell from the pic.
