Help identifying 1941 K98

Just search them on GB. I was watching them for a min before I bought mine. Keep your eye out and you’ll spot all the same tells as normal 98ks.

Do not buy your Ports on GB. No need yet. The Mosin Crate, Centerfire and combo deals on Atlantic ($1399 on matching M937A with bayo and 945rds ammo and cleaning kit) are your friends. Centerfire does $1199.00 specials on their M937Bs 2x a year (with a 90 day layaway avail for free!!!).

No, but point being that they are starting to show up there in enhanced condition.

I'm all for the port rifles. I've got one. They're great and you're absolutely correct that they're a really good deal given what they are. But I disagree that it is a 1:1 replacement for a wartime German rifle. It's also not impossible to get German rifles without getting screwed by a humper, but it does require a little bit of effort.

if I remember correctly towards the end of the Port contract there was need for the remaining undelivered rifles & the Heer took them for their own troops

The Germans pulled from the Portuguese contract (937B rifles) during its run and then mainly fulfilled the contract to replace the ones diverted for German use off the later rifles, late H block. This was due to the rifle shortages of 1941-1942 as a result of Barbarossa.
