Hello
please find pictures of a WW2 K98 stock. This stock has been repaired.
Do you think it is a war time repair or not ?
best regards

This repair is just not neat and workmanlike, and was done by someone with little or no training. The strength of the stock is severely compromised. It's not a wartime repair, or at least not one done by the Germans. With that much damage to a stock, a German armorer would likely have replaced the stock with a spare, or sent the entire rifle in for a depot rebuild.

What should one find on the stock as markings for a depot repair ?
regards

IMHO, this is not a depot repair. GI's destroyed K98's by breaking the stocks at the wrist just as yours seem to have been done.

Someone tore the hell out of that stock. Has a seperate piece of wood for part of the repair. I think it can safely be said that is definitely not an official repair of any kind.
