Imperial 2022 SOS show report

ax - hole
Okay I've done this the past few years and I thought I would do it again for this year. As always it was great seeing fellow Imperial collectors at the show, always great to see you guys. The show is not over yet but it's kind of coming to a close. I think most of us are probably tapped out and have already gotten some righteous rifles lol. But most of those deals were already planned ahead. I'm going to kind of cover what I saw for sale on the tables.

So far a matching depot poor condition Danzig 1914, 1916 Danzig with a cracked stock, 1910 Amberg with sanded snd cleaned stock, a nice matching Amberg 1871, a few Spandau 1871/84 rifles, one Dreyse carbine, two kar88 carbines, one 1918 Erfurt kar98a and 1917 Erfurt kar98a, 1902 Danzig Gew98 with a bad bolt, a few Steyr Gew88 rifles and a couple Spandau Gew88 rifles. Very few accessories such as muzzle covers and slings. Many of the original slings were overly priced for what they were. If other collectors saw some more items that I may have missed please please add to this thread. This is from what I saw just walking the show.

There was a sanded bolt mismatch 15 CGH G98 that must’ve sold on setup. Also a 15 DWM G98 with armorers stock that sold on setup. I bought the Amberg 71 Jordan mentioned and a couple non Imperial rifles.

Did not see the those Marc. Have not seen a Gew98 in person with an Armour's stock. Curious of how it was marked? Wonder if they numbered it to match, or if it was a unnumbered. Now me I didn't buy anything during setup, or maybe I did kind of a surprise I want to review it later.

I was there on Friday meet tom from legacy cool guy to talk too. checked out some k43s that were all over priced. I was talking to this dude named terrill he had a zf4 scope made out of magnesium he said was a prototype, he said was worth 15k. almost bought nice ac43 but the stock was cracked in 3 spots, but the bore was very nice. all in all, met some great people and saw a lot of cool stuff.

I got to put names to faces in Louisville which was really great. The sad part is every year there's less & less Gew98's at the SOS. I had more in my truck than were at the show!

Very true Mike! Some of those would take most Imperial collectors 20 years to find!

Chatting with you was one of the highlights of the trip Mike, glad we got to catch up in person.

Let's just say the new arrivals are settling in with their new family quite well. Lol.

Jordan, I think you had it all covered. There was also a pretty bad 16 wmo (?) with a dustcover but the rifle was a total m/m basket case. They were asking 2500 for it, which to me wasn't worth buying for the cover alone.

It sold though. (Shakes head)

I also saw a loose set of stamped night sights for $800 but they were marked sold.

My only find on the floor was a 1839 Suhl musket that had no further modifications. Some minor reversible bubba stuff, but straight 1839s (no rifling and no rear sight) are very scarce in the US. Only the 2nd I've seen. The other finds were private sales.
