Import 1940 Gustloff not RC marked

Hello,

I found a 1940 "337" Gustloff that is a complete mix of parts (barrel and receiver match) that is an import but doesn't have the "X" RC stamp. I am searching and understand it may be from Albania? It is really nice looking and the stock has the "H" and two Waffenampt on the right stock, a SN (not matching) on the bottom spine and another WaA on the bottom wrist. The disk has WaA but I didn't get a good photo of it. I can't tell if the stock has been sanded (don't think so but still learning). Anyway, I know it is an absolute hodge-podge of parts but it is still a nice looking rifle IMO. The bore is very good too. Just thought I'd see what the pros here think of it. I believe the stock COULD be a Gustloff stock but I really don't know yet. I'll be buying the two (and third) books soon!

Here are a few pics I'll put the rest in the next post. Unfortunately camera quality not great.

Thanks for all the great education and help.

Hello.

Looks like a nice example of a Russian Capture. Some Russian captures lack the 'X' marking on the receiver. Is it import marked anywhere (possibly near the bayonet lug on the barrel?) The Imports from Albania are usually beat up and well used.

The stock looks like its WaA37 marked for Sauer. Is there a serial number on the left side of the butt of the stock? If there is, does it match the serial number on the receiver? Hard to tell if its been sanded, but It has definitely been cleaned of its Russian applied shellac.

I'm sorry, I wasn't clear, there is an import mark on the barrel. I can't believe I forgot to see if the number on the stock matched the SN, I think so but I can't remember.

So, it likely is a standard RC, just "cleaned." That makes sense. Thanks for the response!
