K98 Stock ID help needed - possibly ‘44 Steyr used

I found this K98 stock in the back of the closet and I’m having a tough time figuring what rifle it goes with. I suspect it it a ‘44 Steyr stock since it has a WaA77 on the bayonet lug and a 4 under the buttplate but that bayonet lug may have easily been changed. It has been lightly sanded but the markings are still visible… the few that there are. Oddly it doesn’t have the typical low bolt handle cut out typical of Steyr. Any help figuring it out would be greatly appreciated since I’m sure I can use it but just want to make sure it goes with the right rifle

I’m thinking this is a ‘44 Gustloff stock even though it doesn’t have the “C” stamp on the heel. The bolt handle cutout and markings under the buttplate sure look like Gustloff. The bayonet lug doesn't look messed with so I’m wondering if it was a Gustloff C stock sent over to Steyr in ‘44 that never got the C stamp.

I stand by my original statement that it is a Gustloff stock and not a dot stock from your gunboards post..
What changed your mind on it being a Gustoff stock?

The bolt cutout and the markings under the buttplate seem to be more indicative of a Gustloff contract stock versus a dot stock. But I could be wrong…
