What are the opinions on the LSRS rig now on Ebay? The mount is unnumbered. Is it correct to the period? banjomike

Looks pretty good to me, interesting mixed phosphate scope finish. Big question, how's the reticle and optics?

Dave, I'm curious, what IS the biggest issue with the unnumbered mounts? Are they factory left overs that were never assembled?

Thanks,

Gerard

It could be something like that im sure. Just like the large amounts of un-numbered un-issued zf41 mounts that are about. I think the LSR was slated to be more of a "mass produced" sniper and the company in charge of making mounts made far more than actual rifles that were made.

I have no clue what dave is hinting to ?? I didnt see any reds flags with this rig other than the scope finish and age dont match the scope. Im sure they were placed togehter recently.

I'm sure Dave is alluding to the fact that these unnumbered mounts mysteriously get numbers put on them to make a matching rig.

yep !!! B-I-N

now its over so I saved the photos.. Someone had to have it.. 3k was the magic #

By George I think He`s Got It , EXACTLY Peter . The worst Part on this Particular Mount is, it has Acceptance Proof which makes even more tempting to the ones who may do things like that . This is the First Original Proofed Unnumbered Mount I have ever seen . I have and have sold a few Unnumbered and UN-Proofed but
never had or seen one of these until this one . Best Regards

Depending on the day ,and the need , the scope value is 900-1300,so that puts the mount @ 17-2100... and being un-numbered and proofed it just might be worth that. If you cant have a matching one ,having an un-numbered one is the next best thing I would think.

IF need or want one I guess thats kinda the going rate. I recently saw just a scope sell for 2k on ebay. This is just a guage of value. Not saying you couldnt find one for much less.. But, comfort buying at home has its benefits.

Yah ..I saw that, and had to chuckle @ the importance of timing and and randomness.

Exactly one year ago today I bought a bek on ebay in just as nice a condtion for 1039.00 and I think it was partly becuase the auction ended @ 11:30 in the morning on a weekday....5 min later, from the very same seller, I bought a bmj that was still in its HT rings, and had been painted ,for 1101.00.

All in all a good buy, but again, almost impossible to replicate on any given day.

I am a big believer in patience...if you gotta have it you pay the price, if you want it but dont need it , sooner or later you get a deal.(maybe)

It sounds like a possible Sauer made LSR, even though it has BCD on the top of receiver. Does it have a WaA 37 on the right side (opposite the serial number) of the receiver? If so, hard to find LSR indeed. I believe it would look good with a DOW scope with a machine ring LSR scope mount if you have one. Those are hard to find as well. I would like to see pictures if you get an opportunity.
