Hello members, one old belgian friend R.D.(old BCN member) asked me for help, by adding of his wonderfull piece that was found in area of german airport Brussel-Grimbergen, its most probably in configuration as it was found in may 1945. The bayonet itself is a S/155 "Hoerster" 1937 product in g range, matching with scabbard, wooden grips where the screws were probably mounted wrongly by previous owner.
The frog is various LW proofed, LBA(S), JG I/234, which should be for "Jagdgeschwader 234 Schlageter"1937-8, I.Gruppe, which was later renamed to JG26 one of the famous flying units of Luftwaffe, with over 2700 combat wins in period 1939-45. One of the commanders was Adolf Galland and others.
The piece is marked with Ln Kp, also Luftnachrichten Kompanie, that was probably located in that area for some period in war. b.r.Andy
