Maker ID of Unmarked S84/98 III

Hello,

Can anyone please identify the maker of this unmarked S84/98 III bayonet? I'm thinking Eickhorn, but I'm definitely no authority. The bayonet and frog appear unissued, though some previous owner drilled a small hole through the frog to hang the bayonet. The frog has a RBNr and is dated 1943.

Thank you for your help!

Very best regards,
Steve K

It looks so as mentioned, from mashining traces on blade its similar to cof43/44 period. From left light grip color, i would believe the piece was stored out of sunlight for long decades.
LW frog type of late period, with wrongly drilled hole for wall hanging or for lower rivet.

Thank you! I appreciate the info. I had not considered that the hole in the frog might be a factory error and assumed it was for hanging. It is the right size for a rivet and it shows no wear or stretching from hanging.

One more little tip...if you examine the underside of the grips/tang and go the the rear where the tang connects to the pommel, the end of the grips at that point often show a slight bevel (rather than being nicely rounded to a contour). Only seen this on these late, Eickhorn behoerden and not on their military contract counterparts.
