Does anyone know of any reputable individuals or businesses that deal in military medals? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

If its German contact Dave Wyatt.. He's a close friend and a wiz with german awards. If I had interest Id use him exclusively .. He can be found on face book.

I'm not a medal collector, but I see a lot of medals on these two sites:

Bunker Militaria

Militärische Antiquitäten Emig

I periodically buy other types of militaria from these outfits and everything they sold me was as advertised and real, but then, the stuff I collect is probably not going to be counterfeited. You should be okay buying medals from them, however, keep in mind that WW2 German medals are probably one of the most faked pieces of militaria out there. Some of the repros are really good and it's hard to tell them apart from the real ones, especially if you're a novice collector.

One word about buying from Emig and other sellers in Germany... I think there is some sort of law over there where they have to give buyers several days to back out of the purchase before it's packed up and shipped. It can take up to three weeks, or longer, for the shipment to finally arrive at your doorstep.

Although my German friends think I'm nuts for buying from Emig (because his prices are "too high"), he has good quality stuff and takes lots of photos of each item. Even with shipping, the stuff I buy from him is generally far cheaper than what I would pay for the same items from a US dealer. Since he's at the source, the selection is great. His customer service is good too. He's got a female employee who answers emails in fluent English.

Check out germanmilitaria.com. These guys have authentic stuff and very well described. I've purchased with them a few times and he's a good guy.

Send me your email (it's not on your profile) and I will send you a copy of my trade list of WW 2 German medals. Looking for anything else besides medals?
