My first matching !

Yesterday was my big day, I picked up my first matching Mauser. Its very hard find matching rifle in my country. I bought a rifle from hunter.

Its DOU 43 all matching (only safety is MM).

Please, can you determine month of production this Mauser?

PS: DOU rifles from Brunn II are my matter of the heart, because my Grandpa worked in this factory during WW2.

That's a nice looking dou David! Congrats!

So is there a chance your grandfather may have actually had a hand in building this one?

Wow, a real family connection directly with THIS rifle! Great gun and a great story. To think that your own grandfather may have had this very gun in his hands during manufacture!! Awesome.

Congratulations on your first (of many) matchers! A very nice dou that any of us would be proud to own. Replaced safetys are common. Do you have any more stories of your grandfather?

LOVE the family connection!

Those connections are what are amazing! Unfortunately for me to have any chance of owning a piece of my grandfather's handi-work from the war would require buying a DUKW (he was on their production line during the war) and they take up SIGNIFICANTLY more space than rifles!

Krásné puška, Blahopřejeme! (My attempt to use the Google Czech translator so if it's wrong I apologize)!

Thanks for the nice comments.
My grandfather is unfortunately dead 12 years.
My grandfather working before the war in the Brunn I and he was during WW2 transferred to Brunn II. He controlled the barrels using any optical device. Then the barrels straightened. He always said: my boy, was it a bad time (WW2), but the Germans were better than the communists. Our family had enough food for as grandfather worked in the armaments industry during WW2.
He also said: Our (Czech - DOU) Mausers were more accurate than the German.

More details, unfortunately I do not know...

artyrdl01 - perfect translation.

Thanks
