I picked this up at a mom & pop gun shop/motorcycle shop in 1968 when I was in college. It was tagged as a K98, not a G33/40. The price also reflected that of a K98k, not a G33/40. At any rate, I've owned it since then, and the only addition to it is the cleaning rod from SARCO. All the markings are the ones on it when I walked out of the shop.
Since there are SNs on the barrel band, the forestock band, the follower and floorplate, I assume this made a trip to the armorer's shop. I've been told that that would be source of the extra stamps. The barrel is dark, but it still fires fairly accurately. It is my last Mauser. I've not been able to pass it on, yet.
