Mystery VZ24, ID'ing Help needed

I got this from a friend who is asking me to restore this rifle, and frankly I don't know what to make of it.
1. Does not appear to have any German markings, barreled action and magazine assembly matches itself.
2. Appears to have a Kar98A bolt, total mismatch.
3. The stock is a total conundrum to me, handguard appears too short and the main stock way too long, extending beyond the barrel step.
4. Bayo lug and recoil lug looks German but both are unmarked, stock has takedown disk, finger grooves, bolt cutout, French style sling bar mount, removed keel sling mount, and no wrist mount.
5. Stock is marked with a "T" in the rear sling mount and a "D" on the keel.

What is this thing? What type of stock is on it right now and what type do I need to properly restore it?

Maybe a Polish Wz. 29 stock with the Vz 24 barreled receiver and the 98 A bolt. I am guessing the barreled receiver was owned by the Germans at some point given the serial-numbered small parts.

That looks to be exactly the case for the stock. I figured the wz29 and vz24 were mostly interchangeable, but it would seem that the stocks or barrels had different lengths. The upper handguard may actually be the correct one, since if the stock were offset backwards to align with the barrel step, itd be the correct spot for the step in the stock where the front band sits.

Now I just need to find a proper VZ24 stock and hardware, honestly shocked at the prices online given how neglected these seem in the collecting sphere

All fixed up. Whether I bought from you or not, thank you all for your generosity in offering parts, photos, and time for this project.

That Wz29 stock is Polish proofed. Worth quite a pretty penny to Polish collectors with those Polish proofs. It is a shame the recoil lug is set back though…
