Naval unit markings on 71 Mauser?

Hello Guys,

we do have some great naval rifles here in the forum. I really enjoy looking at these guns. But i always wonder why there are only G98 with naval unit markings out there.

Do you know of, have seen or maybe own a Jägerbüchse 71 or a Infanteriegewehr 71/84 with naval unit markings?

The matching bayonets for these rifles are out there. Hirschfänger 71 and Seitengewehre 71/84 with naval markings are not that hard to find and there are many pictures showing naval units with these rifles...

Here in the US KM B71s seem to be very scarce indeed. I have two B71s issued to Schutztruppen in Kamerun and DOA both found in the US but in 50+ years of collecting have heard of only one KM B71.
I have one KM G71/84 and know of one other. Both of them are well-used.
KM Hirschfänger M71s do not turn up often here. Any Hf71 is a very expensive item in the US.
KM S84s are also not common here. I only recently acquired one to go with my KM G71/84. Both were issued to the 1.M.D.
I have never seen a KM muzzle cover for either the B71 or G71/84.
There are probably more early KM arms here but they go unrecognized because the average American collector does not understand or appreciate the significance of unit markings....
