New from N.Y.

Hello all. Finally got a K98 after a lot of years shooting/collecting USGI weapons. Have to say I am super excited just learning about all the makers/codes and history of the 98. I intend on " picking the brains " of all the knowledgeable collectors on this forum.

Welcome to the forum. Much picking can be done in advance utilizing the many picture stickies and studies available to forum members

Have used the forums photo section already to help buy my 43 BCD. A member named Gerard had commented on one of the 43 BCD photos about how stock has no eagle/inspector mark for that year. Sure enough, brought a import marked 43 BCD with no stock markings but stock didnt appear messed with and gun had " been there, done that" look. Bingo, original serial numbered stock and handguard. Was gonna message gerard but see he hasnt been of forum in 2 yrs. Gun has peened german markings, not refinished and no russian or yugo markings. This is gonna be my shooter. Goal is to get a matching 1942/43 byf, bnz,or bcd.
