This one seems to be earlier than the other ones I have seen "non-turked" (Sam's is an e-block)

Bruce, that’s a top tier ‘18 WMO! Really as good as it gets!

It looks like it was fitted with a dust cover for a long period by the stain in front of the receiver.

Rifle came with a partial dust cover - the clamp assembly was mounted but was missing the cover.

Anybody have a spare cover?...lol.

I'll keep an eye out. I had a similar situation with a rifle I purchased. A loose rear cover eventually popped up.

That's a phenomenal rifle with a sweet beech stock on it too! Definitely one of the rarer 1918 Gewehr 98s to find non-Turked, congrats on finding one!
