Old School vs. New School book publishing

No War Eagles For You! 🏁
Staff member
I thought I might post a photo of some information sent to me by Mr. Speed (obtained from years of research by Mr. Lockhoven) for the book we are currently finishing up. It struck me how fortunate we are to be living in the digital age, where photographs can be beamed in seconds in a useable format-- old school is a sleeve of black and white negatives (photos if you were lucky) mailed to me from Germany, which I will have to have developed, then scan the ones I need to insert, a process that can take days if you get right to it. Bruce and I figure we have about 2 years of work into this book now-- if we had to do it old school, I can see it taking 8 years to do a book this size! By the way, we are going to be pushing nearly 600 pages crammed with color photos and information, no small feat.

Anyway, thought you guys might like to see a peek into what kind of stuff goes into the making of a book....this package included some copies of production forcast for the next volume which we are already assembling information for.

Mike, yours and Bruce's work is greatly appreciated. I love the first book. You guys rock.

Sorry it is so much work but I am glad someone I can trust to do it right is doing it. I am getting anxious for it.

Thank you both, and thanks to all who are contributing.

...which is why myself and others are waiting patiently (more or less...) for each volume to come out. Thanks for keeping your standards high, and keep up the good work, both of you.

Release date

While no hard date was set by Mike and I we are trying to meet a June 30 release to the printer.
This may move back but hopefully no more than 2-3weeks at worst.

Likely if everything works to plan, books will be available by mid-late August or early September.

Going to cost a bit more as the book is 176 pages larger than Kriegsmodell - yes Virginia you read it right, almost 600 pages.

When we release it to the printer, an official date will be set for availability.
