I thought I might post a photo of some information sent to me by Mr. Speed (obtained from years of research by Mr. Lockhoven) for the book we are currently finishing up. It struck me how fortunate we are to be living in the digital age, where photographs can be beamed in seconds in a useable format-- old school is a sleeve of black and white negatives (photos if you were lucky) mailed to me from Germany, which I will have to have developed, then scan the ones I need to insert, a process that can take days if you get right to it. Bruce and I figure we have about 2 years of work into this book now-- if we had to do it old school, I can see it taking 8 years to do a book this size! By the way, we are going to be pushing nearly 600 pages crammed with color photos and information, no small feat.
Anyway, thought you guys might like to see a peek into what kind of stuff goes into the making of a book....this package included some copies of production forcast for the next volume which we are already assembling information for.
