One of my few

I came over here after I had a successful dispersal of my remaining Russian guns in Tulsa last month. I then spent over a third of what I grossed on a K43 and came for info. I've enjoyed the site and folks here. I have some Mausers, just not a lot of German used ones, but a few. I decided to post a few pics of one for comments or advice. I like it even if it is flawed. Matching down to tne screws as they say. Sorry some of the closeups are out of focus. Unfortunately the stock is cracked at the wrist. Here tis.

I am assuming it is not import-marked? If not, then I would say there is a good chance that it was used by the Germans and not sent to Portugal. I like it.

1941 Portuguese

That's a nice old fellow. Looks like it saw a lot of field use, a real "Old Soldier".
Tks for posting and the pics.

Time to thin things a bit. Thanks for the earlier replies. Considering the stock situation, do you think $600 is unreasonable as a sale figure? TIA.

I would think an all matching German used Portuguese contract M1941 98K would do better than $600 at auction.

Good looking old soldier...
Some better pics of the crack would help, but again, with bayonet? $1000 at least would be my guess...again, based on the severity of the crack. It's only visible in the one pic as far as I can tell, but it it pretty noticeable.
