Here is the original glass plate image from Jon that was used on BBOTW page 128.
Turns out they are test firing M1937A Portuguese models.

If you look on the rack at the right, you can see how spectacular those brand new rifles looked.

Amazing.

Also if you magnify the image you can see that these rifles were test fired without the front sight protector mounted.

Beautiful Rifles , What I would give to find one in that pristine a condition . Thanks for sharing a great photo Bruce . Its interesting to see 2 variant Ports being sighted at same time 2nd from left has Cupped Butt Plate 1941 type and 3rd from left has Smooth Butt Plate M1937 type. Best Regards .

Bruce was kind enough to point out , I made a mistake in thinking the 2nd rifle from left was a cupped butt plate type rifle . Looking at pic again I see I was incorrect .
I had best start using my glasses !!!!!!!!! Best Regards.

The guy 2nd left seems to be a left handed shooter? Did they ever make rifles for left handed shooters? Just wondering...

Great photo! What are the tags on the racked rifles for? Does anyone have one in their collection ?

Have a tag?, no. Have the rifle?, yes. Purchased when they first were offered in 1966 from the importer, 45 bucks, about 95% condition. A lot of money back then.

I have a '41 dated Port in unissued condition. It's indeed spectacular!

I'll bet that the front sight hoods are not in place because any targeting adjustments were done at the front sight only, by drifting it, or by replacing it with a taller or shorter front sight.
