Hi All,

I picked this Luger up nearly a year ago and just forgot to post it. Erfurt produced 10,000 guns in 1911; it was their first true year of production. This example had the hold open around 1914. One thing of note for those that use halos to determine originality; until 1913, Erfurt lugers will only display a halo around the caliber marking and witness mark. Halos begin appearing around barrel SNs in 1913.

You guys are a bad influence; I've had the itch for a WWI Luger for a little while now and posts like these aren't helping! That is a stunner of a prewar Erfurt, I did not know about the halos not being present on these very early guns. Thanks for sharing such detailed pics of it!

Sam, you have an eye for Lugers like you have an eye for Gewehr 98s: always stunning. Probably the nicest Imperials lugers I have seen have come from your threads.
