pinstripe handguard?

This came from a rifle I recently acquired. Appears to be an alternating laminate.
What do you all think?

Per the Kreigsmodel book that Mike and Steve produced, on page 215, this appears to be a "pinstripe" or "experimental laminate" stock made by Steyr for late bnz. "kreigsmodel" rifles showing up in the "S" block in 1945. Those with more experience than I please correct me.

It looks like maybe it is but it also looks like the blank used wasn't straight in the shaper. I've never seen white glue odd size laminate.

It's so pale, it's hard to tell. It's on a t block bnz45.
