Doing some looking on gunbroker. Found this particular kar98k that I was interested in. I’m no stranger to Mauser rifles at this point, but looking for further input on this rifle.

(Edit: removed link, attempted to add the few high resolution screenshots that are included, but the forum won’t upload them. Won’t take much looking to find the same rifle on gunbroker.

Im not a mod, but still stating what site the auction is being held on and by copying and pasting the text of the item… it’s still basically promoting the live auction. I have seen dozens and dozens of posts removed for just this type of stuff over the years. Posts like this are basically “shilling” and gaining attention/bids for the item in my opinion. No offense but new member asking questions pertaining to the item created the account today with 3 days to go on the auction…

I’m not here to promote, acquire attention, or do anything within that realm (Which would be foolish, as I may want to buy the gun. More bids, more attention, more traffic via the link increases the likely hood that the gun escapes the margin of what I would want to pay.) Going forward, if I post again I will try to upload images.

I’ve been a long time reader without having created an account. But I do know that, by the vast numbers of “turds” out there, this gun could very well be a fake. If I was looking to promote or was affiliated with the seller, I definitely wouldn’t post it here. That’s just a good way to get roasted by people who know more than I do.

So what about this rifle makes you believe enough that it has anything to do with the SS to ask? Genuinely curious. A single sharp skull marking at the wrist? Have you looked at any other threads on SS rifles here? For educational purposes link a thread here that you feel is similar to this rifle that was discussed.
 
The Skull appears recently applied. Do other photos show stock as matching to the barreled receiver? Front band serial XX’d out. Dicked with sporter rescue?
