Preserving a helmet liner

Guys, is there any particular product that you use to treat your helmet liners to prevent hardening and cracking? My M40 helmet has a somewhat stiff liner, and I would like to make it more supple as I am really afraid of its condition degenerating. Thanks! :thumbsup:
 
You could try Pecard Leather Dressing. I have used it on German leather items with success. But, use very little on your finger to rub it in. Then leave it for a few days and see if it helps. You never want to use to much, you can always redo the process.
 
Good advice from Reich. You can't really bring leather back. Pecards will only add moisture to it, making it more pliable now. The deterioration is done. The best thing to do to old leather is store it properly (climate, heat, humidity, bug, controlled) and do nothing. I use Pecards from time to time, sparingly. Don't over use it.
