Rebarreled 1911 Spandau

This one has a "E" on the BP where you would usually see a letter AND a number for the depot that did the work. It also has a 200m rear sight and the barrel firing proof looks like Erfurt based on examples in the reference section. My questions are 1. Is "E" a depot or something else?
2. Is the barrel an ordnance spare or one they took off of an earlier rifle? And was recycling RS bases common?

Stock looks sanded to me. The only non-factory parts appear to be the firing pin and front sight blade (and barrel of course).

Tom, I believe you are right on the E meaning erfurt. We suspect they had a rifle refurbishment/recycling operation- I have also seen a similar "D" on a Danzig rebuild buttplate. It harkens to the "H" seen on likely Hannover assemblies.

Look at the way the barrel code info is stamp that is an Erfurt or Danzig characteristic right there. Either way an interesting rifle.
