Replacement Spring Set Recommendation

Bought a nice bolt mismatch a few weeks ago. When I took the bolt apart, I noticed the striker Spring was super rusty, and the firing pin had spiraled rusty pitting in it.

I was able to clean the firing pin up real nice with ballistol and bronze wool. I tried doing the same to the Spring, but didn't have any luck.

Where would you recommend buying a replacement Spring set from? Brownell's is out of stock, and it doesn't look like Wolff Springs has any for the K98.

Wolf springs are great, but to save on shipping you really need to buy a spare for all types of rifles you collect. Shipping on one spring is high.

Yes, they will work in any K98k and the 22 pound will only be slightly longer and more firm because its a new spring. Now As you go stronger the trigger pull gets harder. If you shoot cheep Turk surplus with hard primers or old Yugo 8mm surplus you may also want to get a spare 24 pound spring. I use 24 pound springs to fire off old hard primers on surplus ammo that I got at a nickle a round. If you fire modern 8mm or new reloads with normal boxer primers, a 22 pound spring should do fine. The Wolf new spring should be slightly longer than the old spring. If you are getting only one spring then ebay may have one with free shipping. I generally have on hand spares because back in the day we would get 5-10 cheep surplus rifles in one order. And of course the 24 pound is a little longer than the 22 pound replacement. You will notice a difference in snap, power, and trigger pull. Clean the bolt and have a thin coat of grease on the pin. Just a wipe and rub with your fingers not a thick mess. Some just use 50 W oil. If you want an original weak spring, then ebay has a bunch of non rusted used dogs that will work most likely with most modern 8mm hunting ammo. I always save my originals with the rifles serial number in the Wolf package after replacement if a guy wants the original spring.

Perfect, thank you for the information! I will get a new spring kit ordered up from Wolff and be good to go.
