Restoring a K43

..Notice how "new" that rust is, and the sling section doesn't look right to me.

I'm not even a German 'semi' guy and that thing looks like crap. I'm pretty sure that specific item from that seller has appeared on this forum before too?

I mean, really most of my stuff is Soviet/Yugoslavian. First German firearm I've owned. Thanks for all the help, this forum is proving invaluable.

My big complaint with the repro stuff is the bluing is too good. The finish on the rifles metal items is usually way rougher then the repro stuff is, I'd think it would stand out massively

If you're wanting a reproduction stock for your rifle, try Murray's Gunstocks. They make stocks for the G/K43.
Just got off the phone with him, he does G/K43 stocks as well as G41’s in walnut and laminate, so depending on what you’re after, he isn’t backed up 8 months, and he’s in the US which make the cost and time of shipping much less than from Poland. Fox is also know to sometimes forget that you paid for the serial number and WaA stamps to be added and you’ll get your stock after waiting for months without the addition of numbering and stamps

I tried sending Murray an email, but it bounced because his mail box is full. I bit the bullet and ordered with Fox, I haven't heard that he sometimes omits the added serials and stamps. I hope that won't be the case with mine...

Its best to call Murrays.

Hey, its been nearly a year. Still playing with this as time allows.

Finding accurate information on these is hard, looks like there is/was a book on them, of course when you can find its its $170+ and at the moment, I cannot find it.

would this AC44 w/ 359 WA markings on it have a flat or ribbed butt plate?

Time has passed, its visited a gunsmith to be checked over. It got the all clear.

It actually shots pretty nice, the repro magazine is crap, even after playing with it it wouldn't feed anything, ended up just buying an original, what a difference that made in overall fit. still have yet to try that out with live rounds.

Not going to fire it off much, heard too many horror stories.

So just how bad are the reproduction front bands and butt plates? With the exception of the cleaning rod and front sight hood every reproduction part I've bought isn't fit for purpose.

Sent Fox an email about what the current wait time is for a stock
I'll have to give Murray's a call as well
