S/237 1938 Lubecker pickup today

Just picked this guy up today, almost all matching, the stock is a different serial as well as the front band, there is a duffel cut under the upper band. Paid the price of a R/C for it.... Came with the K&S muzzle cover, which I'm keeping with the rifle, but out of curiosity what kind of value do the muzzle covers bring typically? Thanks, Chris...

nice grab!
muzzle covers: prices run the gamut from $20 at a local gun show in May ( IMA currently has some in the $20s) to asking $100-$150 for ‘rare’ WaAs. The $20 one I saw (too late!) looked orig finish, e135 marked, seller isn’t much into German stuff. all examples I refer to are of this exact same type, fitting a non hooded K98k front sight and flip open mechanism for shoot through. there’s a slew of other countries’ styles out there too, but these are the best, IMO.

Nice find, Lubi is my favorite maker.
Is the duffel cut fixed?
A German vet taught me a trick to securing those

hly - Kraftf & Schüll, Ketten-Drahtwaren, Düren m/c with clear waffenamt is worth more than a run of the mill variation... first I have seen this exact pattern, seen e/280 but typically this WaA carry the ord-code (hly instead of K&S)

Nice rifle and maker-date, especially for an rc price!

What was the trick for that?
The double ended threaded brass tube that is used by most lamps is hollow so the wire can run from the plug to the bulb socket.
The threads are a perfect dimension for the cleaning rod channel.

You screw in the threaded brass tube into the stock then screw the cut off piece of the stock until it comes close to the main body making sure you stop when it is the correct position
The saw cut means there will be a gap or if you make it flush it will be too short for the band spring) so you will need some wood filler.
Always save broken or bad Mauser stock pieces so you can grind off some wood powder to mix with glue to fill that gap.

It has been a while since I did one of these but I was amazed how well it worked the 2 or 3 times I did this.
It is very strong eliminating any worry about coming apart.
I wish I had photographed this step by step but alas I did not

Where are you guys finding these amazing rifles for RC prices?! Congratulations man, she's a looker. I'm totally not jealous at all :sneaky:
