Hey guys. So I have an opportunity to grab this k98 from an estate sale. It's in good shape but the bolt doesnt match. No import markings and it's not a capture. All the eagles are intact. She's liquidating the husband's collection. I'm not quite sure what to offer on this? I want to be fair but I also don't want to take advantage. Any insights or observations would be appreciated.

Assuming that rest of the rifle is matching, my initial reaction is to say offer $1k and see what happens. That would be a decent deal for you, but you also wouldn't be totally gauging her either.

Couple things to note though. I have a feeling that bolt is humped. Also, it looks as though there is a chunk of wood missing along the side of the floorplate.

The M1903 at the very top in the first picture looks like it is a single bolt stock, so a very early rifle. Make sure to check this one as well, might be worth it!

The extractor collar shall be blued and with a WaA inspection stamp, the extractor seems to be in the white. As @hale1940 said, possibly a bolt m/m.

What does something like that go for? I know nothing about 1903's. She does have a Krag Cavalry I think I'm going to pick up. Serial 286468.

Here are some more photos. There is also a nice CSA Remington New model army. Apparently according to the the tags on that he tracked the guy who had it down.

Those French MAS-36s look sweet!! Take a look into those as well! Might be a worthy investment if you can get it for cheap
