hello
this old 98k is now at home , it's coming from CORSICA but has been stored in bad conditions, so it's not very nice , i have taken it because for me it seems interesting due to the repair performed by Spandau , i'm not sure if we can call this "repair or reworked ", many parts have been replaced , barrel , bolt ,rear sight base , butt plate ,follower .... the solid stock is original and has two spandau stamps , but the hand guard is laminated . nevertheless the rifle is matching which is not so bad . now are the pics.
thanks for your comments . 0.jpgDSC0801311.jpgDSC080141.jpgDSC080121.jpgDSC0791211.jpgDSC0791111.jpgDSC079381.jpgDSC0801611.jpgDSC079391.jpgDSC079401.jpgDSC079461.jpgDSC080151.jpg

Congratulations Bernard, it looks indeed like an interesting one.
I guess the Su stamp is Su10, correct ?
I looked up the history of German occupation in Corsica : they took over from the Italians in July 1943 and left on October 3rd, 1943.
It was occupied by Sturmbrigade "Reichsführer SS":

Do you know the history of the rifle ?

I have never seen a part marked like the extractor collar, very neat. Possibly an early depot made part? Quite an interesting rifle thank you for sharing it.

Very interesting mix of parts all across this piece. If I see it correctly barrel is dated '41 so repair after this some time before it left for Corsica? Thanks for sharing.

thanks everybody , for sure interesting one , guillaume regarding the history nothing more , the only thing i know is that it pops up in calvi area , and about the Su stamps , difficult to say , i think Su19 on the RH side and Su29 on the grip .

Very interesting rifle! Shows the way a rifle has been instandgesetzt (depot repaired). One can never know enough about Mauser rifle service.

Thanks for sharing!
