Hello,

like already said, it's a Portuguese contract rifle and Portuguese serial number.

The rifle was imported and sold from the company Frankonia Jagd and got the firing proof in November 1978 in München/Munich.

Greetings,
Stephan

Hello Stephan,

Are these rifles effectively transported to the Portugease or are the due the war confiscated by the germans and used by them?

Greetings,

Raf

Richard Law argue that the Wehrmacht exported a quantity of regular K98k from their own depots onto Portugal. On these K98k you find the complete WH marking and moreover the emblem of Portugal and the Portugal serial number on the stock near the buttplate.
The condition of these K98k almost is very well.

I have the same rifle. I bought it a few days ago and was looking for more information. Now I know more. Interesting stamps are convex. IMG_20210423_074638.jpgIMG_20210423_074616.jpgIMG_20210423_074626.jpg

Mo937 in that case a normal Kar98k configuration early delivery to Portugal, the portugal series are only on buttstock marked, which many are not visible, metall parts and bayonet have a Mauser serial number. 40000 pcs in A and B range.
