Hi All,
I am proud to be the new caretaker of this lovely 1916 WOK from Mike. While I have a 1915, it's a beater and was hoping to come across a high condition WOK at some point to counter balance the rough one. This example is matching down to the cleaning rod and a real showstopper--including one of the nicest beech stocks I've handled. It's about anything one could ask for in a WOK, this also showcases the sloppiness of this particular maker (note the upside-down recoil lug and shoddy SN stamping) While there are harder rifles to find, there is a certain mystique about this maker that tends to draw people in. I'm happy so many of these have gone to folks here.
The bands and triggerguard have little bluing remaining (as i tend to see from this maker), leading me to beleive that they had issues with their bluing process on these. Makes sense given the issues WOK experienced in production.
While Mike posted some photos several years ago, I disassembled and got barrel codes and a few interior shots for reference and Paul's data.
