Hello Guys,

today i watched a old documentary about british rifles filmed in the 80s. I was very, very surprised to see them showing an original Karabiner 98 (Einheitskarabiner 98 first variant) to showcase the Mauser 98 system.

This is the first time i have ever seen a Karabiner 98 filmed and fired! What a treasure. By the way, the rest of this documentary is realy worth watching as well. A lot of interesting british trial rifles.

Karabiner 98 is shown from minute 11:30 until 12:25.

I hope you guys enjoy it as much as i did.

With kind regards

Vincent

Interesting! Very scarce rifle to see outside of books or museums. Hopefully it still resides in a collection over there.

One thing of note is the speaker describes the M98 action as cock on close, which is incorrect.

Yes, very interesting indeed! The first time I think I've seen an example of the Martini repeater system.
