As promised, images of the previously discussed.

It is indeed for the small caliber kit. Butterfly is broken on one side.

Thanks for posting detailed pics of the swivel link/hooks. Even in the close views the intact hook appears a bit wider than the broken-off one. This may be attributable to comparing the flatter, inside surface of the intact hook to the outer, slightly rounded stem of the damaged one. Regardless, a RGK "hooky" is always a nice find...particularly for a KK rifle...

Some additional detail, no markings. I won’t be keeping it as it’s outside my focus so figured I’d get a few more photos.

I just found this little one in a random KY1937 box.
Caught my eye in the corner of one of the seller's pics.
I couldn't find any markings, but since it's for the small caliber kit, it has to be from G.Appel right?

What would be an appropriate box?
Unmarked, with the early side seam placement or oval recess in the lid?
Or maybe these are still recorded in 1935 G.Appel (no WaA) marked kits?

The proper behalter would be a sliver tinned one (but invariably have turned to gray). However, often the original tin finish survives in the interior. Lid could be marked G APPEL with either the large capital letters or micro-font size. If dated, agree 1935 most appropriate. Never encountered a Klein Kaliber Rg34 which wasn't attributable to APPEL. It seems a large number of these were behoerden kits and not sure if the Heer had orders filled this early. My guess is they were more concerned with equipping their forces with 7.92 x 57 Rg34s. Slash would know if any of these "hookys" have been reported with WaA marked components. Still something on my own want list as well... good score!
