Steyr Daimler Puch K98k bnz41

I was lucky to add this one to my collection. A K98k code bnz41 all matching rifle. The condition is not the very best but this is how i like them - it has a story to tell. Sitting for the last decades it came out of the dark and saw daylight again!

I would appreciate all opinions from you experts what you think about it. Especially the "R" stamp. As there are a few parts marked WaA77 they clearly came from the Radom factory in Poland. Could the "R" stand for Radom?

Thanks, I suppose you mean the other thread, which i started. It is the same rifle only is this the pic i got from the seller before. Now i own the rifle and did some more detailed pictures!

Thanks for sharing that snip. It makes perfect sense to me. As the book mentions when finishing operations acceptance point to SDP (in this case all 4 being e/623) the R would give a rapid visual that the forging came from Radom. You can also see the e/77 on the bolt root.

Also some more small parts are marked e/77 - the handle is also double marked e/77 and e/623.

You don't show the bolt shroud and cocking piece but I suppose it's possible ALL the bolt parts came from Radom. As for the double acceptance on the root I don't think I ever saw an explanation, but I'd think it indicated a 'finished' bolt supplied by Radom with final fitting done at Steyr.
