Hello members, few days ago asked me for help by determining of KM marking of a missmatched piece a US collector F.D., he mentioned he bought the piece and it have a matching KM marking, but the bayonet and scabbard are of different maker and date. I was little suspicious about the piece as sometimes could be pieces field matched but normally a KM matching numbers were observed on matching bayonets.
Later sent me the link of the piece of Ebay, as he dont have the pictures yet. Items no.261439839484, was sold for 600 USD, when i correct understand.
As the bayonet is not good described there is in reality a 1944 piece, stamped on wrong side of crossguard with matched KM number, N.3628P, but made with nice stamps and correct font. The scabbard is correct KM stamped piece, made by J.Corts in 1938. So from the late date of the bayonet same as the wrong position of stamp i am opinion that is a faked KM stamp. I looked to my old BCN forum datas and found this scabbard was saled by my good friend Chuck.L. in 2006 for 10USD plus postal, as the blueing was new and new serials on frog stud should mean its of a yugo postwar rework. Thats a really confirmation that the bayonet was KM matched post 2006 in reality. best regards,Andy
