Unusual Aug.1940 cupped buttplate stock

A couple of weeks ago I scored a non import 27/1940 k98 in what I think is a very unusual stock and handguard. The stock is in exceptional condition, dated 4 32 40 in the barrel channel, which I believe is Aug. 8 1940. This seems to be a very early cupped buttplate stock date.
The stock is not matching to the Erma rifle however the stock, handguard and both bands are oddly numbered '36'. There are no proofmarks whatsoever anywhere on the stock and it most certainly hasnt been sanded. There is a small 'A1' stamped in the stock below the grip. It has a small diameter takedown washer, cupped buttplate and an unmarked bayonet lug. The recoil lug is marked with a capital 'G'.
The bands have a unique way of being numbered as you can see in the photos with the upper band being solid milled.
The handguard is unique in that it appears to have been created with pink adhesive. Anyone have any insight? 20240120_175929.jpg20240120_180807.jpg20240120_180216.jpg20240120_180344.jpg20240120_175947.jpg20240116_211037.jpg20240120_181829.jpg20240120_181821.jpg20240120_181904.jpg20240120_181925.jpg20240120_181933.jpg20240120_181853.jpgScreenshot_20240120_211010_Gallery.jpgScreenshot_20240120_211623_Gallery.jpg

I was looking in the Picture Reference section and RyanE shared a 1940 JPS m block with laminate/date code reported as Na 2 16 40 in the barrel channel. Still has the flat butt plate.
