I know you mentioned that you were running into issue putting up more photos of your rifle on this forum. If the pictures are too large and on your computer, I like using Paint 3D (built into Windows for free) to scale down the size of the photos to make the uploader happy (I think it is 1MB maximum).

I would definitely like to see more photos and a picture of the entire rifle. For $250, it looks like an affordable "fixable" project for sure. It looks like you have a complete stock, which in my opinion is the HARDEST part of a Kar.98a! Through our PM's I sent you the beginnings of a "shopping list" and between the resources on Apex and Century, and the parts from myself and the other gentleman that chimed in, I think you should be well on your way to making this complete!

For any non-original coatings on the stock, I like to use mineral spirits with a generous wiping of a microfiber cloth to wipe it away. I don't really like to go any further than that. However, it doesn't appear that your stock was painted, just a century of oily handling. I could be wrong.

I took it apart and the stock and handguard match. Century and apex had the other parts so all i need is floorplate and trigger guard.

Ill just leave it alone for now i didn't evan think spider poop it doesn't want to scrape of very easy

There is a rear band with screw on eBay right now. Its a bit pricey for your case where you are JUST looking for the screw, but an option nonetheless. I have only seen the screws pop up for sale as available on Numrich once and they sold out in a day or two...

There is a gentleman on GunBoards that custom made one for me for $20 shipped. It isn't a 100% match, but from a foot away, you can't tell the difference. PM me if you want his info.

PwB marked Kar 98 a....

PwB marked Kar 98 a....Pics added I just picked up a PwB marked Kar98a won't have photos til this weekend...It's a Danzig 1910/1920 dated piece...It has even been through a ww2 rebuild...It is in it's original stock which has had a takedown ring added and it's marked e/4.. It is a bolt mismatch...
