I know you mentioned that you were running into issue putting up more photos of your rifle on this forum. If the pictures are too large and on your computer, I like using Paint 3D (built into Windows for free) to scale down the size of the photos to make the uploader happy (I think it is 1MB maximum).
I would definitely like to see more photos and a picture of the entire rifle. For $250, it looks like an affordable "fixable" project for sure. It looks like you have a complete stock, which in my opinion is the HARDEST part of a Kar.98a! Through our PM's I sent you the beginnings of a "shopping list" and between the resources on Apex and Century, and the parts from myself and the other gentleman that chimed in, I think you should be well on your way to making this complete!
For any non-original coatings on the stock, I like to use mineral spirits with a generous wiping of a microfiber cloth to wipe it away. I don't really like to go any further than that. However, it doesn't appear that your stock was painted, just a century of oily handling. I could be wrong.
