Is this an early war M31 model? I am new to German Military gear. My mother in law got this for me in an antique store.

A nice early/pre war model M31 with leather reinforcement pads on the belt loops and aluminum hardware that shows some honest use. The aluminum 1938 Goffel is made by GK&F (Gebr. Kugel & Fink, Lüdenscheid) who are mainly known for their belt buckle production but also made plenty of other items during the war. The tag I would treat as a story, not the truth. Thank you for sharing!
