I know a 43 Single Claw would not or should not have a Checkered butt plate , the lack of serial number on barrel is what had/has me confused .
What about it ??What about the white glue??
Is that common on a single claw? What about it ??
You left out "single claw"Plenty of 43/44 Steyr in WGL.
and you have the friggen can !!! wow...Now it's complete
Single claws where regular produced rifles that showed higher accuracy levels so were converted to snipers. So any single claw sniper will pretty much have all the same features as a regular production rifles. You left out "single claw"
I guess we will never know but I would guess the factory since we see the same butt plates from Sauer, Mauser and Gustloff. I would think Steyr also shortened the safety before Mahrdolt received the rifles.I really wonder if it was Mahrholdt himself to fit the checkered buttplates, or if they did this at factory already?
Was this final proof (placed on the barrel) different from the regular weapons? Was there a double proof test?...and a final proof placed on the barrel.
Well we do know the unfinished LSR snipers by Gustloff feature checkered buttplates.. are you also aware of unfinished snipers by Mauser that feature checkered buttplates?I guess we will never know but I would guess the factory since we see the same butt plates from Sauer, Mauser and Gustloff. I would think Steyr also shortened the safety before Mahrdolt received the rifles.
